ABOUNDING IN THE LORD’S WORK
1986 – 1990

Giving attention to the Worship area of the Church Sanctuary in February, 1986, new Pew Cushions were bought by the congregation for the cost of $2,574.

New Stained Glass windows were place in the Sanctuary in February, ’86, at a cost of $700.00 each, adding beauty and color to the auditorium.  Windows were purchased by individuals and families, honoring loved ones.  The first worship service with the new windows was celebrated on October 19, 1986.

April and May, 1987 was significant for Liberty Baptist Church.  They purchased 2.13 acres of land, which included a store building, from J. R. Austin for $25,000.

Two years later in July of 1989, the church celebrated with a “Note burning” ceremony.  The Church had remodeled the newly purchase building.  The total cost of purchase; land, building, and remodeling, was $46,000.  The Church was now “Debt Free”!

The Davidson Family gave a beautiful Cross in the memory of Rev. W. J. Davidson in January, 1990.  The Cross was placed, with lighting, in the Sanctuary, above the Choir loft.  Later, in May of that year the Church decided to name the new Educational Building, “The W. J. Davidson Building”.  Brother Davidson was a retired Pastor who had become a member and respected leader in the Church.
