Building on Faith

To see the church within the next ten years is to see the mark of Christian maturity. As the church continued to reach people, space became a problem. The idea of adding on to the church building became a strong interest in 1973. The people had already established a $6,000 building fund in a local savings. But money in the bank did not meet the need.
In July of 1975 under the pastoral leadership of Barry Campbell, Liberty added a fellowship hall, a kitchen and three Sunday School rooms. The church had to borrow $6,000, but the debt was paid off in no time.
Believing God is able to supply our needs is a wonderful blessing for every Christian. Truly, this act of faith inspired the entire church to depend on God for the needs in their life.
Up until this time, Liberty had held their baptismal services at Underwood Baptist and Central Heights Baptist. In the early years they were held at Fowler’s Ford. But in 1976 the church decided it was time to have baptisms in the convenience of Liberty’s building. In 1976 the church again decided to build on faith. A baptistery and choir loft were added. This has been a wonderful blessing for the church and shall be for years to come.
