Benefiting the liberty baptist church life center
Meet the Boys!!!
On April 26, 2018, there was a car accident in Lauderdale County, that not only changed the lives of the impacted families, but it changed the community as well. Three young men lost their lives, and it changed the lives of two young girls as well. One of the young men was Tyler Nelson who was a member of a small church. Liberty Baptist had recently hired a new youth pastor who asked the five youths what they envisioned for their group. Tyler’s request was to build a gym for him and his friends to shoot basketball and hang out together. The youth leader explained that the group would need to grow if they wanted the church to build a gym. He challenged those five youths to invite a friend to the next service. Tyler took that challenge and the next service he brought two friends to church with him. Each service there after Tyler would be seen with a new friend. He soon had several young men that would come to church with him consistently each week. Liberty quickly came to call this group “The Boys.” Tyler's friends would stay at his house on Saturday night, and then they would all attend church together Sunday morning. The Boys (Tyler, Coby, and Braden) were very much loved in our community. They loved each other, their friends, families and especially God.
The community came together after this tragic accident and helped Liberty build a Life Center in memory of the boys.
The center has a full kitchen, pool table and most importantly a basketball court, just as Tyler had dreamed.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from this tournament will be used to pay down the mortgage on the Life Center. We would appreciate your support!
